Crystal Mountain Race

Crystal Community Ski Club (CCSC) Race Academy Invite
January 13, 2018 at Crystal Mountain Resort
When: Sunday, January 13, 2018.
Racers: Join us for the first race of the season! A good warm-up race for everyone.
For ages: U6 (under 6), U8, U10, U12, U14, U16. Please no “A” team high school or full time USSA racers.
Event: Giant Slalom on Cheers to Lou. Two GS courses will be set. Athletes will make two runs on the same course. Girls will race the yellow course. Boys will race the blue course.
Registration: Cost of the race is $15 per racer. Please have one representative of your club pay and pick up race packet for your club. Pay with one check from your club to “CCSC”. Register for the race between 12:30-1:00 pm in the Crystal Center, Northwest Territory room “C” (second floor of the ticket and rental building). Teams can use that room to store bags and get ready.
Release Forms: Please print out and sign the snow sports (for athletes) and gatekeepers release forms. All forms must be turned in at the time of registration. These forms are attached to the invite e-mail.
Lift Tickets: Purchase lift tickets from the Crystal Mt. lift ticket counter on the first floor of the Crystal Center (ticket and rental building). A list of participating clubs will be given to Crystal Mt. Lift tickets are sold in a packet of 15 for $135 for racers which includes 2 coaches comp lift tickets. Additional racer and parent lift tickets are $12 each. If you have less than 15 racers each lift ticket is $12.
Please, one person from the club purchase all the lift tickets at one time. Lift tickets start at 12:30 through the rest of the day.
Running Orders: Please send running orders in the excel spreadsheet attached to the invite e-mail to Steve Kermode, firstname.lastname@example.org , 231-378-2070 by Wednesday, January 9th. List athletes in the order of age groups starting with U6.
CRYSTAL COMMUNITY SKI CLUB
Volunteers: We ask that each team provide 2 volunteers to assist in running a smooth race. These positions will be gatekeeping, starter, leaderboard etc… Please provide volunteer names on registration form. Volunteers will be assigned positions at registration. Gatekeeper meeting at the base of Cheers at 1:15 pm.
12:30-1:00pm Registration in Crystal Center, Northwest Territory room “C”.
1:15 pm Coaches and Gatekeepers meeting at the base of Cheers. (Coach Chris Fisher – CCSC is Chief of Race).
1:15 pm Courses open for inspection. All racers inspect their course at this time.
1:45 pm Courses close for inspection and Gatekeepers in position.
2:00 pm Race begins.
Top 10 combined times in each age group male and female.
Results and awards will be announced in the Crystal Center, Northwest Territory room once results are tallied.
